Well the title pretty much lets the cat out of the bag. Both brick and mortar JCPenney department stores as well as their online presence offer fairly priced patterns for everyday wear, both in and out of the office. Patterns By patterns I mean the usual suspects, you know, stripes, solids, plaids, polka dots and allover patterns better known as “foulard” patterns. They splash the likes of J. Ferrar, Liz (Caliborne) and Co., American Living, Stafford, Izod, Towncraft, Steve Harvey, Joseph Abboud and Van Heusen designer ties, to name a few. Surprisingly enough, they also carry Jerry Garcia neckties, Hallmark novelty ties, and an occasional skinny tie or two. All told, about 80 to 100 neckties are offered online, many with multiple color combinations of the same pattern. Pricing Neckwear on sale can be got for as little as $9.99, with original prices ranging from $25 to $38 dollars. In two words: very reasonable! Normal Widths & Skinny Ties, Too! Most neckwear ranges from 3 ¾ to 4 inches wide, this being measured from corner to corner at the tip. Skinny ties are either solid color or offer a retro look. While narrow neckties have been popular for over 4 years as of this article, the buyers for JCPenney were slow to introduce them, not until the trend rooted itself firmly into men’s fashion. Catalog, Online and In-Store Shopping Options Nothing makes up for seeing a necktie close and personal at one of your local stores, but online is a good second choice for quick shopping. The catalogs offer the least options but take the time to describe the Stafford and Van Heusen brands which are featured there. In Conclusion JCPenney is a good go to place for a decent selection of every day wear, for both casual and professional settings.
